Dear Parents,

We are so excited to welcome you to Hawthorn Academy Kindergarten.   The beginning of the year is coming up fast.  We are getting our rooms ready and are getting excited to meet your child.  We have updated our Kindergarten website and it has vital information on it.

We wanted to make sure you knew about our Kindergarten orientation.  It is on Tuesday, August 13th from 10-12.  You can come in any time during those hours.  Come in, meet your teacher, see the classroom and ask questions you may have.  We do this in place of Back to School Night.

 

August 14-20 is Kindergarten testing.   We use Google Sheets to sign up for testing.   If you sign up on a desk top or laptop computer, you do not need to download the app.  If you are trying to sign up on a tablet or smart phone, you will need to download Google Sheets.  Hawthorn Academy uses multiple types of Google docs throughout the year, please become familiar with the program.  When signing up for testing, please make sure that you sign up under your Kindergarten teacher.  If you do not know who your child's Kindergarten teacher is at this point, please email Ms. M (jmclachlan@hawthornacademy.org) and she will let you know.  Only put your child’s first name, last initial in the cell.  If you do not hit ‘enter’ or click out of the cell, your time slot will not be saved. The link to testing can be found on our website. If you are having trouble signing up, please send me an email so I can help you.  The Kindergarten test will take about 15-20 minutes.  

To sign up for Kindergarten Testing, please go to the Kindergarten website and look for the button link “Kinder Testing” with your student's teaher name.  It should go to their sign up page.

While you are on the Kindergarten website, please take time to sign up for volunteering and filling out the Kindergarten Disclosure.  All links should be right on the homepage for you.
